When you book a tour, bike rental or service you are agreeing to the terms below. Operating partner: Eat Sleep Cycle S.L.

Trademarks & Affiliation

Ride The Race is an independent operator and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.), RCS Sport, Unipublic, or any other race organiser. Race names — including the Tour de France, Tour de France Femmes, Giro d’Italia, La Vuelta a España and Volta a Catalunya — and their associated marks are the property of their respective owners and are referenced descriptively only, to indicate event windows, locations, and the public roads used by those events.

Deposits & Payments

Cycling Tours. A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 3 months before the trip. See our Tour Cancellation Policies for refund details.

Bike Hire & Hub Services. 100% payment is required at the time of booking. See our Bike Hire Cancellation Policy for refund details.

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is not included in any service. It is the sole responsibility of the client and must be purchased in advance through your own provider.

Bike Hire Terms

  1. The bike is to be collected and returned by the guest at an Eat Sleep Cycle hub (Girona, Nice, Málaga or as confirmed in your booking). For tours, the rental bike will be delivered as described in your Trip Notes.
  2. The guest agrees to provide a passport on collection. Details must match the reservation.
  3. The duration of the rental is detailed in your booking.
  4. "Equipment" refers to the rented bike and accessories on this contract.
  5. Equipment must be returned on or before the rental end date and time. For tours, see Trip Notes.
  6. Late returns incur a fine of €10.00 per hour / €80.00 per day. If equipment is not returned, ESC may recover it without claim by the guest.
  7. The guest confirms the equipment is in perfect condition on collection.
  8. Equipment must be returned in the same condition. Repair or replacement costs will be charged to the guest.
  9. The guest must inform ESC of any damages or malfunction.
  10. The guest is obliged to take all necessary precautions to protect the bike and accessories from damage, loss or theft. The guest assumes all repair or replacement costs at market price.
  11. At the end of the rental ESC will assess the condition of the equipment (excluding reasonable wear and tear).
  12. The bike must be safely secured indoors when not in use. Do not lock outdoors in public; remain with the bike at all times.
  13. The guest declares they are in good health, able to ride a bike, in control of the equipment, and hold valid travel & health insurance for cycling activities in Europe.
  14. When renting multiple bikes, the same declarations apply to each rider.
  15. In case of loss, theft or damage, the guest must inform ESC immediately and is liable for repair or replacement at cost price.
  16. The rental does not include insurance for the guest's own damages.
  17. The guest provides credit-card details for precautionary use only and authorises ESC to charge that card for any damages or, in case of theft, the original price of the bike(s) plus accessories.
  18. If no credit card is available, a debit card with at least €500 balance must be provided; the amount is blocked for up to 7 days and released after the bike is returned in acceptable condition.
  19. The rental includes Civil Responsibility cover for damages caused to third parties. The guest is responsible for respecting local traffic rules and other road users.
  20. The guest and any companions confirm they have read and understood these terms.
  21. Personal data is used exclusively to deliver the contracted service. This contract is governed by Spanish law.

Tour Terms

Combined-travel contract subject to the following particular conditions, supplemented by your Trip Notes:

  1. Tour Name, Dates, Price, Departure/Return, Payment Schedule, Itinerary, Accommodations & Transport — as established in the Trip Notes.
  2. Minimum number of participants — if required, ESC may cancel a departure if not reached. See Trip Notes.
  3. Execution of the tour. ESC is responsible for the correct execution of the services in accordance with Article 161 of RD 1/2007 and shall provide reasonable assistance to guests in need.
  4. Entry requirements. Visas, passports and fees may be required, as established in the Trip Notes.
  5. Insurance.
    • Assistance Insurance — optional travel assistance.
    • Cancellation Insurance — optional, paid by the guest.

  6. Cancellation costs — as set out in the Trip Notes and on the ESC Cancellations page, unless otherwise agreed.
  7. Modification of the programme. The itinerary may be altered due to weather, road conditions or other unforeseen causes to safeguard guest safety. A minimum 15% admin fee per guest applies to changes requested after deposit on private/custom departures, where ESC deems the changes possible.
  8. Claims. Any non-execution must be notified to ESC promptly — preferably in situ or within five days of the end of the trip.
  9. Responsibility. The guest declares good health, ability to ride a bike, control of the equipment, and valid travel & health insurance.
  10. Special requests accepted by ESC will be detailed in the Trip Notes.
  11. Data protection per Bill 15/1999. Data may be shared with providers (accommodation, transport, insurance) to deliver the trip.
  12. Jurisdiction. Courts of Girona, Spain.
  13. Transfer of the reservation. The principal guest may freely assign the reservation with at least 15 days' notice.
  14. Responsibility of the principal guest. Signing on behalf of others confirms that all named guests have read and understood the contract.
